The prompt library holds reusable questions for the Analyst. Clicking a prompt puts its text in the message box, where you can edit it before sending; it does not send automatically. There is no separate Prompts page. The library is in the panel on the right of the Analyst page, where you can edit it, and behind the Use a prompt button in every Ask the Analyst drawer, where you can only select prompts.
Folders and visibility
Folder | Visible to | Editable |
My prompts | Only you | Yes, by you |
Team prompts | Everyone in your organisation | By the original author until the prompt is moved to Team |
Sample prompts | Everyone | No. Read-only; cannot be moved or deleted. |
Sample prompts are organised into Customer success, Product management, Product marketing and Customer support, with sub-folders such as Account health insights, Pain point mapping, Competitive intelligence, Customer quote bank and Customer effort. To adapt one, copy its text into a new prompt of your own. Folders you have opened stay open the next time you visit.
Create a prompt or folder
Use the new prompt or new folder icons in the Prompts panel on the Analyst page. A label can be up to 255 characters. New items are added to the top of My prompts.
To save a question you have already asked, hover over your message in a chat and click the save as prompt icon. It is added to My prompts, with the first sentence as its label.
Edit, organise, share and delete
Edit. Hover over a prompt or folder you can edit; the icon becomes a pencil.
Organise. Drag prompts and folders to reorder them or move them into folders.
Share with the team. Drag a prompt or folder from My prompts into Team prompts. Everything in a folder moves with it. A team prompt cannot be moved back into My prompts.
Delete. Open the prompt with the pencil icon and use Delete. Deleting a folder deletes everything inside it. Deleting cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot edit a prompt, it may be a sample prompt, which is read-only.
Permissions
Anyone who can use the Analyst can use prompts. Creating and editing needs a role that allows it.
Without a role that allows creating and editing prompts, the new prompt and new folder icons are not shown. Ask a Four/Four administrator.
Team prompts can be edited by the original author until the prompt is moved to Team, and afterwards by people with permission to manage all prompts. Only some roles can move a prompt or folder into Team prompts.
