Overview
The Slack integration connects Four/Four to your team’s Slack workspace, helping you capture and share customer insights, trigger alerts, and automate workflows right in the channels where you already collaborate. Four/Four can listen in on relevant conversations, push summaries and notifications to key channels, and make sharing validated feedback across departments frictionless.
Who this is for
The Slack integration is for any teams who want to:
Collect, analyze, or automate customer and product feedback from Slack conversations and channels
Deliver insights, summaries, alerts, and reports to product, sales, CS, or leadership channels without switching platforms
Reduce manual copy-pasting of feedback or issues between Slack and other tools like Four/Four, CRM, or Jira
What you can do with the Slack integration
Ingest customer feedback, questions, or product requests from selected Slack channels automatically into Four/Four
Route important insights to specific channels or users via targeted workflow notifications (eg, surface competitor mentions, key product blockers, or urgent customer pain)
Share Four/Four summaries, reports, and highlights to any Slack channel for real-time discussion and action
Alert your product team, account owners, or customer success managers as soon as new evidence emerges on a tracked topic
Instantly find and link back to full insight details or matching customer conversations directly from Slack messages
Use Slack to distribute weekly, monthly, or ad-hoc digest reports assembled by Four/Four
Before you start
To connect Slack, you’ll need:
A Four/Four admin licence
Permission to add integrations and apps to your Slack workspace
Channels where customer feedback, product discussions, or support conversations occur (public or private, with the right access)
How it works
You add the Four/Four app to your Slack workspace from the Four/Four connections page.
Go to the Connections area in Four/Four and click "Connect" on the Slack tile.
Authorize Four/Four to access your Slack workspace.
You’re done! Four/Four can now be configured to send notifications using workflows and listen to threads in channels.
Once the bot is installed added, a channel member will need to invite the Four/Four bot into each channel you want it to participate in, either to push messages or read channel threads.
Importing content
To import content into Four/Four from a channel use the slash (/) command "/capture". Four/Four will notify the channel members that it has started watching this channel for feedback.
If the channel includes customers, Four/Four will identify the correct CRM account to link to or ask you for guidance.
Four/Four will automatically pick up threads (and, if enabled, historic messages) from connected channels, analyze them for insights, and associate them with the relevant accounts, deals, or topics.
You can control which messages are ingested by only inviting the Four/Four bot to specific channels.
Notifications
Insights, conversations and other notifications are delivered to Slack with context and direct links back to the original message, related customer, or deeper Four/Four analysis.
For outbound notifications, create a Workflow in Four/Four to capture and summarise the information you're interested in. Use a "Slack Notification" node in the workflow to direct the output to the right channel.
Best practices
Only connect channels that are customer-facing or where product-related feedback appears to reduce noise.
For privacy, avoid connecting channels that contain sensitive company-only discussions unless specifically needed.
Use Four/Four's workflow customization to set up alerting only on high-value signals (eg, urgent bugs, key customer feedback, or notable mentions) so channels aren’t flooded with non-actionable info.

FAQs
How does Four/Four know which Slack channels to listen to?
You choose connected channels during setup. For private channels, make sure to manually invite the Four/Four bot.
Will Four/Four ingest all messages in a channel?
That's the usual method, but you can also import thread-by-thread instead.
Can Four/Four post alerts or digests to channels not being ingested?
Yes. You can have channels dedicated just to notifications, even if ingestion is disabled.
How are messages linked to accounts/customers?
Based on the participants in the channel, Four/Four matches the Slack thread to existing CRM data. If this is only an internal channel no linking will be performed.
Does Four/Four capture threads and replies?
Yes, as soon as team members start replying to a message, transforming it into a Slack thread, Four/Four will start to import it as a conversation.
Can we limit who can set up Slack workflow automations?
Workflow permissions are managed in Four/Four. Admins can control who configures or edits workflows by assigning Creator licences.
Will Slack integration overwrite or change channel data? No. Four/Four only listens and posts notifications - it does not edit or delete any Slack content.
How often are notifications or ingested messages processed?
Real-time for workflows/alerts; ingestion and summarization may have a slight delay depending on configuration. Digest or summary posts are sent based on your workflow schedule.
